Hey kids! A big virtual high five from all the instructors here at The Outdoors Project, we miss you!! We'll be back at clubs running around like loons as soon as we can but in the meantime we'll be sending over some fun activities to try out at home indoors or outdoors. Silly games to play, new skills to try or a riddle to solve. You shouldn't need much equipment and most of it can usually be found at home. You can do this by yourself or invite family members to try with you. Always remember to ask permission before you use anything though!

STAY IN TOUCH. It's important to keep active and creative! If you have any activity ideas you'd like to share, suggestions on what you want to see here, favourite riddles or pictures of what you have been creating that you think will inspire us, we want to know! You might even get a shout out!

Gangsta Granny Heist Game

Gangsta Granny Heist Game

Hey kids,

Outdoors Project leader Helen has a game to share from one of her favourite David Walliams books "Gangsta Granny"!

This is one of my favourite books, Ben and Grandma make a great team!

I'm going to show you how to build your own laser maze and assault course to steal the crown jewels and escape to victory!!

If you haven’t seen the film, here’s a link for the film version of this great book on CBBC.

Outdoors All Weathers!

Outdoors All Weathers!

Our clubs are all outdoors come rain or shine, children are spending their childcare club time in the fresh air, partaking in a wide range of activities that teach them a whole range of skills including team building, navigation skills, art, leadership, planning and resilience. The sun may not always be beaming but the smiles will be!

Autumn Term '19 After School Club report

Autumn Term '19 After School Club report

Activities this term have included; * Storm Kettle & Nettle Tea brewing * Viking Pottery * Minecraft Volcano Build * Creeper Game * Apache Lahal Stick Game * Viking Kubb * The Randomizer (which mission will you pick?) * Nerf (at participating schools only) & Adventure Games all featuring the key ingredient FUN !

The children that attend the club are full of energy, intelligence and charisma and these dynamic personalities really create a great environment for fun and learning.   There is a lot of focus on sharing praise and encouragement for effort. During the sessions we work through problems to find solutions, help the children understand everyone has different abilities and strengths and encourage each child to make decisions for themselves. The children have shown their resilience in adverse weather conditions during the first half of term and we’ve also seen some amazing team work.

Nothing like messing about in the great outdoors!
By Rachel Mostyn

I’ve always had a real thing about holiday clubs and in fact any kind of organised activity for kids to do during the holidays that might even remotely feel like school.
