After a decade of working as a scientist with a PhD in physical chemistry I wanted to get away from days spent in front of the computer. I’ve coached youth football and taught young children to ski, as well as adventuring with my own two primary school age children, so I jumped at the chance to bring The Outdoors Project to Royston & Cambridge.

I grew up with memories of family holidays camping in North Wales and expeditions with the Scouts. Since then, I’ve always loved the outdoors and particularly exploring the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire countryside. I want my clubs to be a place where children can also feel this love for getting outside in the elements.

I believe that being outside is so important for mental and physical health, whatever you are doing. If every child can find something that they love about the outdoors and come home tired and muddy but happy, with a smile on their face, then we’ve done our job!

Adventure on!
