The Outdoors Project - St Albans

I have always loved making the most of getting into nature, from holidays as a child spent in Devon and Cornwall to hiking the Inca trail with my brother Pete in Peru and rafting down the Zambezi river in Zambia! My time spent in Hawaii really took my love of embracing the outdoors to a new level however! Along with a bunch of friends I became a part of the “Brews on Top” hike club. Whether it was a hike through the wilderness to a WWII emplacement with a view of Oahu or paddle boarding out to a deserted island to camp for the weekend the outdoor life inspired me and I am so excited to get involved in the Outdoors Project St Albans so that I can pass on a love of exploring and having fun in nature to a new generation!! I am a teacher and I have taught in Hawaii USA, Rwanda and in the UK. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Reading, a Masters in Modern English Literature from the University of London and A Masters in Education from Homerton College Cambridge... I love to study too!

I’m Pete and I run the franchise in St Albans! I am very excited to be setting off on the adventure of running clubs in the area from this Easter!

If I had to sum up what keeps me ticking I would say I love travel and adventure, favourite trips have been hiking in the Andes in Peru and surfing in Hawaii, I love to play music too! I play drums, fiddle and sing. For my day job I have worked in education for almost 15 years and am a serving Assistant Head Teacher! Working with young people every day makes me passionate about giving them the opportunity to get outside, get muddy and get active!
