Our clubs are often fully booked but if we have a space, you are welcome to join us for a trial session. Please contact your local office to see what is available.
Bookings are taken online for a whole term. If there are spaces, we are happy for children to join mid-term and prices are amended weekly online to reflect the missed sessions. If you are unable to pay for the whole term in advance then please get in touch to see how we can help.
Any lost property found at after school clubs will be returned to the school office or lost property area.
At our holiday clubs / weekend clubs and parties, we will remind children to take home everything they came with. Please do check that children take home everything they arrived with when you pick them up from a session.
Items lost at a holiday club will remain onsite until holiday clubs end for that holiday so you can pick up at sign in at 10am or pick up at 3pm sign out.
Once returned to the office after clubs we will try and reunite named lost property with the owners, we will then clean and keep lost property in the office for 1 month before any remaining items go to a local charity.
Older kids (12-13 years old) are perfectly welcome at holiday clubs and birthday parties. Our clubs are aimed at a core age group of 7-10 years old, so they’ll definitely be the oldest, but as long as your child is comfortable with that and wants to be there then that's fine!
If they want to book on for a few days, they might like to be taken under our wing as a young assistant volunteer. In which case, they'll be given a T-shirt and a few simple tasks to do during the day. Please note that the child's place is still chargeable at the normal rate - they're not there to lessen our work load, it's more designed as a way to encourage an older child to feel welcome.
Absolutely! To give you a feel for the kinds of activities and games we love, why not try some of the ideas on our blog in your home, garden or local park?
Why let the kids have all the fun? We are happy to see if we can help arranging cross generational activities for family events or company team building... Nerf, teambuilding, bushcraft, the sky’s the limit! Please get in touch with your local club to discuss further.
We want to make the drop off / pick up process for our Parkwood site as efficient and safe as possible. Below are some useful tips shared to us from the organisers, who have had huge amounts of children arriving to their camps.
PARKWOOD SCOUT CAMP - Poynings Rd, Poynings, Brighton, BN45 7BA
DROP OFF:
We encourage you to approach Parkwood from the north via the B2117, and driving south down the A281, so that when you turn into Parkwood, you will be turning left and are not trying to cross the road against oncoming traffic.
We will be operating a one way loop system in the car park and again, encourage you to have your children ready for a quick drop off, directly from the car park with their bag/lunch/coat. We will be there to welcome them from the car for a fun day.
Should you need to talk to a leader for sign in then please park as directed and go to the staff member to sign in.
On leaving the site, turn left back onto the A281, rather than crossing the road again, and head back via the roundabout which is just down the road.
PICK UP:
Again, we will be operating the loop pick up in the car park and will be bringing the children to the car for a swift efficient pick up at the end of the day. We’re excited about welcoming you all to our latest site, we love it.
Please be aware that ticks can be found in all areas of the South Downs National Park and they have been found in Parkwood. Most tick bites are harmless and don't need medical treatment, but some ticks, like the deer tick, can carry harmful germs that cause Lyme disease. The deer tick is tiny - no larger than a pencil point. Other ticks are larger and easier to find on the skin.
We recommend kids wear long-sleeved tops, trousers & socks. On site, we have a tick removal spoon and antiseptic cream and we will advise any parent at pick up should we have removed a tick from your child during the day. We recommend you check the kid's skin and hair after club — the scalp, behind the ears, around the neck, in the eyebrows and eyelashes, and under the arms.
