Job description

A rare opportunity for a year round, full time position working in the outdoor education sector. The role involves working with primary school children every day in an immersive and nature based environment, leading on a wide range of fun activities. At least 50% of your time will be spent on site with the children but the role also involves supporting on the administrative side of the business - managing sites, taking bookings and dealing with a wide range of stakeholders including schools and parents. On a daily basis, you will work together with the team to manage, develop and deliver our clubs. The role would suit someone with extensive experience working with children, who is keen to learn about the different aspects of running a business and who is looking to develop their admin and management skills

The Outdoors Project Bristol has been running outdoor fun stuff for children since 2014. We are outdoors, year round in all weathers delivering fun outdoor clubs in the form of school based after school clubs, holiday clubs, birthday parties and school workshops.

You are:

A hard-working, dependable, thorough, super fun and friendly team player with excellent people skills, a sense of humour and a willingness to work cooperatively and support the needs of a growing business. You have strong experience delivering activities for primary school aged children (would suit outdoor activity instructor, educator, sports coach) and in managing the risks associated with that.

You will:

  • Be passionate about outdoor play for children and teaching children about the outdoor environment
  • Be an excellent communicator and able to deal with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Be a good multi-tasker able to manage multiple aspects of a role

  • Be happy to work on your own when needed with minimal supervision
  • Be available all year round including school holidays

Key activities:

  • Assist with the day to day running of the office to include:
  • Responding to email enquiries
  • Taking responsibility for the organising and promotion of Birthday Parties
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new staff
  • Keeping staff records up to date
  • Managing the rota and communications
  • Scheduling of activities throughout the term and maintaining kit lists
  • Marketing - to include:
  • Maintaining The Outdoors Project social media presence and support in developing Marketing strategies
  • Website – Daily updating the website with price changes and new info
  • Mailing list – maintaining the mailing list and compiling regular campaigns
  • Childcare Vouchers – Admin & Consolidation (excel stuff)
  • Daily Delivery of clubs/parties/workshops
  • Following company policy and procedures and strict confidentiality policy
  • Creating pretty notice boards!
  • Maintaining kit
  • Directing and supporting staff on site
  • Assist with staff training.

Salary: £21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
