What's it like to work with us: Brighton & Hove - Spring 2023

A few highlights of what we've been up to with our staff this year, to give a feel of what it's like to work with us (& to show our faces to the parents out there!)

1) Staff training days. Imagine 30 outdoors instructors running around a field... playing games & doing the activities we've designed for kids - lots of fun & laughs, great bonding opportunities, and of course some training in children's behaviour management, SEN & first aid, etc.

We do these before each school term starts for our after school clubs, and again before each school holiday starts, for our holiday clubs. A great opportunity to give the activities a trial run before letting the kids loose, and a great way for the team stay connected & running like a well-oiled Nerf gun.

Have a look below at how our February half term holiday club training went down.

2) Staff socials!

Why? 'Because we're worth it!'  After every holiday club, the staff have a much deserved sauna & pamper at Beach Box Spa - with 3 saunas, plunge pools & (in true Outdoors Project style) a campfire - to rejunenate after the high intensity weeks of running clubs.

What about for after school clubs? A pizza & visit to a local watering hole, or perhaps show off our gameplay experience at Lazer Quest, or a more chilled one playing games & having a BBQ at the local park.

Here's our most recent staff social:

3) We became a Living Wage employer! Wooo! Keep your eyes peeled for an interview with the Brighton Chamber soon about why we joined the campaign (Spoiler alert: It's because we really value the team we've nurtured over the years!)

If you're interested in working with us, we're always on the lookout for new staff - whether it's as work experience, part-time work at our after school clubs & holiday clubs, or full-time. Please enquire at info@theoutdoorsproject.co.uk. More info on our roles can be found here.
