The Journey Stick

The Journey Stick

A fun activity involving the humble yet mighty stick!  When embarking on a walk in our local green space or in our gardens there’s so much to see and find.  Throughout time many native people around the world have used “Journey Sticks” to collect items important to them, attach them to their stick and use the stick to retell the story of their journey. We challenge you to make a “Journey Stick” yourself to retell the story of your adventure in nature!

Merlin's Magic Potion Making

Merlin's Magic Potion Making

Merlin the legendary wizard was King Arthurs personal advisor back in the day (medieval day to be exact).

Now being a wizard, you must have a good knowledge of all things magical when it comes to helping your pal – the King - through some challenging times. Magic potions would be especially useful to a King and his knights of the round table surely?

Viking Jomswikiger Game

Viking Jomswikiger Game

Hey kids, we’re back in the land of the Vikings! Joel’s favourite time period, I think he is part Viking - his middle name is "Bjorn" and his family used to live in Denmark so it would explain a lot! This time we’re exploring a traditional game played in settlements and camps. It’s a game of patience, skill and involves bit of tracking and stalking.

It’s called Jomswikinger – bet you can’t say that out loud ten times in a row!

Roughly translated it means “Blind Viking chest touch smash game”. Do we have your attention yet?  Read on ....
